Bible teaching at CCS is aimed to cultivate devotion and to equip the believer that he “may be complete, equipped for every good work” (1 Tim 3:17). The work of shaping a believer’s walk is not complete without a grasp of the complete scope of God's scriptures, so it is a high priority to spend quality time taking in all the 66 books of the Bible (Ps 1:2) as we declare the whole plan of God (Acts 20:27). We need time in God’s Word to receive God’s corrective perspective from the God-breathed scriptures (1 Tim 3:16).
Bible teaching at CCS is aimed to be supplemental to a believer’s aspiring mastery of the scriptures and does not claim to be exhaustive in explaining “the depths of the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God” (Rom 11:33). Believers will be pointed to other Bible teachers as well as deep thinkers, knowing that teachers are “only servants through whom you [believe], and each has the role the Lord has given” (1 Cor 3:5).
“No Scripture is exhausted by a single explanation. The flowers of God’s garden bloom not only double, but sevenfold; they are continually pouring forth fresh fragrance.”
— Charles Spurgeon
“The hidden things belong to the LORD our God, but the revealed things belong to us and our children forever, so that we may follow all the words of this law.”
— Deuteronomy 29:29
“You have been born again—not of perishable seed but of imperishable—through the living and enduring word of God. For “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like a flower of the grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this word is the gospel that was proclaimed to you. Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all slander. Like newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow up into your salvation, if you have tasted that the Lord is good.”
